Sheffield will ensure that sporting activity embraces other cultural activities including dance, art, music and museums.
London 2012 has 'culture' as one of its key themes, giving everyone the opportunity to get involved with sport on some level. A variety of cultural activities are planned in the lead up to London 2012 and to celebrate the yearly countdown in the lead up to London 2012, Sheffield will host a number of cultural activities during 'Open Weekend'.
The 'Open Weekend' in 2009 takes place on from July 24-26th and will see lots of activities happening throughout the city.
