Facilities and Services

The site is to due to change ownership from Sheffield City Council to Win Tennis in 2008, the change of ownership will see the facility undergo a major redevelopment starting in 2008 which will include the addition of 3 further indoor acrylic tennis courts, 4 indoor and 4 outdoor clay tennis courts, a new swimming pool and sports hall along with new fitness, catering and conference facilities. In addition the outdoor tennis courts will be re laid.

All facilities will be Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant.

The site will also house one of the largest DDA compliant accommodation blocks available to athletes with disabilities in the UK (in partnership with Sport England). This accommodation will provide excellent facilities for wheelchair athletes visiting the city.


Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre has a number of years experience in the hosting of sporting events, these include The World Student Games, The Women's Team Indoor Tennis championships, The Special Olympics and numerous International and National tennis events on behalf of the The Lawn Tennis Association.

Included within the tennis events is over 10 years experience of hosting International and National Wheelchair Tennis events including the British Open and Closed championships.


The venue is included in the London 2012 Pre Games Training Camp Guide for the Paralympic sport of Wheelchair Tennis.

The venue is also suitable for use for able bodied tennis.
